Prop. 28 Documentation

WHAT IS PROP. 28?
"In November 2022, California voters passed Proposition 28, the Arts and Music In Schools (AMS) Act, which will provide ongoing annual funding for arts education." See CreateCA's planning toolkit for more background.
Each district is required to post a brief report on their website by September 30 on the completed year's Prop. 28 funding. 
​NOTE: This report does not contain any fiscal information. For a timeline of important annual Prop. 28 dates, click here.

Please note that the district reports listed here are for the 23-24 school year. Schools are required to post this information every year, and as Prop. 28 is relatively new, some schools have opted to roll the money over to the next year. "California Education Code (EC) Section 8820(f) governs the expenditure period for Arts and Music in Schools (AMS) funds, and it indicates that allocated funds are available for use for up to three fiscal years. At the end of the third year, the amount of unexpended funds shall be reported to the California Department of Education (CDE) by October 1. Unexpended funds will be collected by the CDE and allocated to all LEAs in the following fiscal year."
